What is fine-art photogtraphy? Well, let us first start with what it isn’t. It's not taking a photograph to simply capture an event, what someone is wearing or a memory with no artistic vision or composition. And it’s not photojournalism or candid photography.
In fine-art photography, the photographer is the artist, and the recording of the subject is not the main purpose - although making an artistic statement through your vision and the eyes of your subject is. A fine-art portrait image is created by the photographer as an artist and not just by the camera. The photographer’s vision is central to the resulting shot with the collaboration and trust of their subjects.
